Update on Sadie

edited June 2008 in General Discussion
Well, yesterday we went to her first training class. I got a bit choked up when we were driving there. xD And guess who let her sit in the front seat, and stick her head out the window of the car? Dad. :D I ish exstatic.

 • just so you know it's not good to let your dog put their head out the window of a moving car, can damage their eyes and ears, not to mention that if the window is open enough the dog could jump out

 • I let my dog do it because it helps her with her carsickness.

Congrats, peppah ^^
Orianya's right, plus loose debris (dirt, glass, etc.) could come through and cut your dog's eyes and ears, and also they could accidentally step on the close button and hurt themselves.

 • xD She does get carsick, and that's why we did let her, because she'd just eaten soo much treats and on the way home we kinda had to to save dad from throwing Sadie out of the car. She was gagging and all.. anyway, she would not sit still for a minute, and that bothered me. She knows how to sit and stay already. But, it was a new place so...

Once we are done and have passed the <a href="http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">CGC, we may do some training for a therapy dog. Then every Thursday we can go to the hospital with her and help out. My absolute dream.

One summer, I was at summer camp and my brother was sick. He was going to our grandmother's house. he was reading and Onyx, my maltipoo, had his head out of the window. The next thing you know, my brother all the sudden screas, "Mom! stop the car! Onyx fell out of the car!" Onyx had his leash on, which didn't help. They stopped the car, got him and ran to the vet, only to find out that his leg was broken.
I was at Summer camp and my dad ran in and told me to hurry, Onyx fell out the window of the car when mom was taking my brother to grandma's. I was freaked!

So, yeah, from experience, don't let a dog stick his head out the window. It costed us around 3,000 dollars.

 • Well, the main point of the story is that she is going to the flipping training classes. >.>

And she may be a service dog. Now will you guys stop giving me greive about one time I let my dog do that? ^^ With my mom, she won't care if a dog pukes in her car. This was my dad's work car.
