Easy 2 Steal?

I know this sounds so bad, mean, and wrong, but if someone who worked really hard on a lineart/handdrawn pic be more careful to protect it? I mean if you made a pre-made handrawn dog pic that you could sell for up to a couple million dollars on vp, show it to the public? I mean sure people would like to see examples, so you would show them old ones right? Now let's pretend i was a criminal, i was too poor to afford lineart but i asked to see it anyway right? They show me the pic, and all i had to do to steal it was right click>save picture as> and then repost it as mine. I know this sounds horrid, but it bothers me, if you can steal pics like that, what else can you steal that easy? Any opinions?

If you steal and get caught stealing, you're banned. Plain and simple. There's nothing anyone can do about it otherwise. Anything can easily be stealed if the criminal is desperate enough to have it.

I put watermarks on everything until they've been sold. I'm just not going to risk it. This is such a horrible thing to do, but its very hard to catch. -Rosy

Like Rosy said. Water mark water mark water mark. I'm shure if an artist spent hours on art and saw someone else who took it they'd know it was theirs. My art has never been stolen before but if anyone did I would try very kindly not to rip their faces off. ^^ It's horriable when other's steal art. Dx

Also bear in mind that it's not just against the rules, it's ILLEGAL, and you can have charges filed against you. I personally go through and get all the stuff together for my work to be copyrighted, just in case lol What if I'm famous someday (hah!)

lol yeah maybe someday, i've seen artists just splosh their art aroung tho, dont you think they would be at least a tiny bit careful?

They should be. But if their art get's stolen it's partly their fault. (Not that it's right for people to steal it in the first place)

Some people even leave water marks on the center of their pieces even after they're sold. Though smaller and less obvious, if you were to erase it it would ruin the piece.

I try to put a watermark or signature somewhere IN the art. that way it can't be erased or changed

I use gimp to do watermarks, just make your watermark then make it as transparent as you can get it (as long as you can still tell what it is) then layer it onto the piece

HOW DO YOU DO A WATER MARK? xD It sounds like what I need. Someone on a different game stole one of my banners and just cut the corner with my name off of it. They didn't get banned, I had no proof it was mine then...

Type whatever you want on it. Then lower the layer's opacity.
