okay. im getting really peeved off about this.
for the 'Oh I Wish' and 'Surprise' thread. It drives me absolutely insane, when people give others or surprise others with REALLY crap graphics, just so they can get something themselves.

its annoying. in the 'surprise' thread, i suppose its okay. but can we start getting a little more 'wish granted' in the 'Oh I wish' thread?

I mean. people are asking for money or training, and they get a free banner, or something that looks pathetic. (no offence to those who do this) .. but seriously. i am over it.
i go on both these threads, hoping for something to HELP ME OUT. not rack up my signature or kennel page with boring old banners and images.

if you plan on arguing with me. save yourself. im not in any type of mood to put up with defensive comments.

  • Sorry that my thread isn't working all that great for you. I'm honestly sorry about this. When I made this thread about 1-2 years ago, it was perfect and lots of dogs/money were given out. Nowadays, people are getting greedier and wanted more things, so they ask for more than they can give. It was a good idea at first, but now it's dwindling down to almost pointless.

It isnt your fault for creating the thread. Its basically no ones fault but our own. It still is a good idea, but it has become quite pointless because people are asking for more than they can give.

  • Sim.. I totally agree, which is why I rarely post in there.

I have only given graphics once! Once in the whole thing.

People just give crappy graphics because they are too lazy to do anything else. Too lazy to give something worth giving.

It's very selfish, a quick free banner, etc. in return for a decent dog.

:/ I hate it too.

  • What I hate is not getting anything at all.
Don't promise/grant/suprise me with something if you don't intend to give it.

Another thing that irks me is when a person wishes for something simple and, before someone can grant them their wish or at least give them something of equal value, another person unable to says something along the lines of, "I couldn't grant your wish but here's a banner/1k" then wishes for something extravagent.
Because of that person's greed and impatience, they've stopped someone from getting what they want but what tops the cake is right after they get their wish, they do the same thing again. x3

I personally wish that people, if they can't grant the wish, would at least wait and see if someone else is able to do it.

Greed has taken over the thread, where it used to just be about giving and fun. I personally like granting people's wishes when I can but if the same people keep asking for the same thing that's not grantable and blocks others from giving, how can I?

Bah.

  • Yep, I agree with everything Koshi just said.

I remember this mostly on the thread before this, but two or three people would just give 1k, ask for a sponsor account, and then give 1k again. I try to give the person what they wished for or something similar about in the value range of what they gave or a bit more.

Grrr... have a heart!

-Rosy
  • Maybe people who actually want to help others should just ignore those posts.
Like, if someone said:

"Oh I Wish for a .. good eventing dog" (examples)

next person:
"sorry, I couldnt grant your wish, how about a free banner/tag -
i wish for .. VPC or trainings"

maybe we could just ignore them? so if they give something ridiculous like little money (i know some people may only be able to afford a bit - but dont give it if you cant!) or a banner, tag, personal pic etc.
The next person would grant the person above thats wish, and maybe KimYo, you could edit your first post to say something about this, like:

"If you cant grant a wish, give something similar or along the lines of, rather than something pathetic. If this is done, you will be ignored until you give something worth giving."

It sounds tough. But we have to try and fix it!

  • Gosh.

Who's to say that that person didn't spend hours slaving away on the computer for that crappy bit of banner-art? I mean, we all aren't the best graphic designers/artists/money makers. Who's to say that when a person does give 1k, they aren't just trying to help the next person by giving their last in a kind gesture (which is what the posts are all about)?

Say we are able to stop them from posting 'crappy' gifts, what are they allowed to give if that's all they can? >.9

And how does a person decide whether or not the person above them has given a worthy gift? O.o I mean, to one person that 'crappy' banner is...well, crap, to another it's cool.

Maybe if the authors of the posts just made a revision suggesting people try to be more various in their gift giving or gift asking? I don't know. I'm trying to think of the people that really don't have much to give and want to participate with little to nothing. :/

A question to ask yourself: Are you angry about the people giving 'crappy' gifts because of your own selfishness or because of the inability to give selflessly? o.O

Bah again.

  • oh... i don't think you should be counting on the giveaways too much. most people do it as fun. i always try to give someone money/certain dogs if they ask for them, but i agree with koshi, i don't know anyone on here that isn't proud of a banner they made. even if it's not what you like. there are some players that have under 1m total and they still give 100k everytime. it's not the gift that matters, it's the fact that they even bothered to try to give someone something that belongs to them.
i think if you want to have your own rules, you can start your own 'i wish but only if i get what i want, and can blatantly ignore other people's wishes' thread.
i mean, who cares if someone wishes for something more than what they can actually give? isn't that kind of the point of wishing for something?

sheesh, like the kid at christmas that hates their gifts and throws a fit about it, making everyone that witnessed it feel akward as hell!
It's just life. You'll get over it.
  • I think I may need to clarify, seeing as when people read my first post and then my second post, it may seem as though I'm wishy-washy on the whole thing. xD

My main problem with both threads is: People that aren't trying to give what others wish for because of their own wants.
For example.
Person A: I wish for a 10x4 dog
Person B: I'm sorry I can't grant that, here's 1k though. I wish I had a sponsor account.
Person C: I'm sorry I can't grant that but here's 1 mil. I wish I had 5 trainngs.
Person B: I can't grant that but here's 1k. I wish I had a sponsor account.
Person A: Sorry can't grant your wish, bid 0 on this dog. I wish for a 10x4 dog.
And it continues with Person B continuously giving 1k and asking for a sponsor or dye or maybe a lot of money.

That's what annoys me, not that the person's giving1k or is never granting the wish but the fact that they aren't at least giving other people a chance to give Person A a dog. x3

That's the problem I have with the threads nowadays. ;P I'm not wishy-washy! XD

Wow nicely put. I tend to avoid the giving threads because mainly..I just am lazy to send contract, dogs, ect. I would be one of those people that is selfish. I am a selfish person and I don't mind saying it because at least I realize it.

I do see the difference in what you mean when someone gives all they can verses someone just plain giving nothing and asking much. I think you put everything perfectly and it makes sense. How about the editing on the board is "Give and ask at your own risk!" xDD
