Okay so, right now at my school we're doing physical fitness testing.
Now, we're only supposed to do it freshman year and it's over with, but
we're testing again because apparently there were a lot of kids last year
who didn't pass.

There's 6 tests, and to pass you need to pass 5 of those 6.
If we don't pass 5/6, we have to take P.E for another 2 years.

Now, one of those tests, this year, is height and weight.
O.o
I dunno about anyone else, but I think it seems a little like discrimination
to test people on their height and weight, specifically their weight.
First of all, our teacher didn't even tell us what weight we're "supposed" to be
at.
Second of all, your really not supposed to be a certain weight at a certain
age. It all depends on your diet, exercise habits, and your height.
So how are they going to go and -test- us on our weight?!?!

I have to say, I'm rather skinny myself. But, I do have numerous friends
who are clearly overweight, and they're taking it very hard.
I think this "weight testing" is humiliating, degrading and I feel it's discrimination.
It makes me mad that our school district is actually doing this. I can
understand that they want everyone to be a healthy weight, and fit, and
that they're worried because this is the most unfit generation in history,
but seriously...

What do you all think? Am I just over-reacting? Or is this a serious matter?
