I'm so madd because everyone in my family is getting a new laptop. I dont care if my parents get one, they deserve it, but then they get both of my siblings one, and me, i get a new mouse for my brtoher computer. It's not fair when everyone gets one, my parents buying, and I get nothing...like i said, if my parents got one for themselves, i would be fine, but then they get my 2 brothers one, im pod

 • ..are you the youngest? And your parents might not have enough money to get -everyone- a new computer. I am the oldest and I get things my sister doesn't. She normally gets it a year later and it kinda bugs me. I waited forever to have a tv in my room and she got one after me. But anyways, they probably didn't have money or think it was a priority that you need one.

 • That's what really bothers me about some parents. They have to spend to the penny the exact same ammount on each child. NO. Girls will get makeup sometimes as a surprise. Next month, a toy car might come home for the boy! Life isn't about being equal. It's like communism. You will have no classes? That's baisically what it is.

I have a friend... her mom gets them EVERYTHING under the stinking sun. Let's say Bob. So, Bob gets a t.v. and cable and everything in her room and rubs it in my face. I get to cook my favorite dinner that night and I'm equally happy. But when I get something(like a DS Light)... her mom goes and buys it for her like it is a competition. I can't like one thing with her butting into it! It makes me mad. I love soccer and she hates it and it was my one thing(that and singing) that I had that she didn't. Well, now, she's joining my STINKING soccerteam. >.< I get extremely mad too.

 • We get equal for our kids. For birthdays and Christmas we have a set spending limit for each child. Now as I have noticed as the child gets older the fewer presents they get because they want more expensive things. *points at the 7 year old with the mp3 player* I don't feel right if one gets more then the other. Its like I am favoring one child over the other two. I grew up in the sort of family that had favorites among children and it was not fun one bit. My mom had my brother and my stepdad had his daughter. I just kinda was just their. Its also still like that to this day. xD So I want to make sure my children do not feel like they do not get equal treatment. Believe its not fun. xD

 • Haha my mom tries to make things equal. She will go shopping and get something for me then the next time it will be for my sister, and sometimes we both get something. And during christmas she says it's hard to try and make things equal. I end up with less presents because mine are more expensive but I really don't mind.

Maybe you will get something later that your parents may think that you will enjoy more. I can see why an 18 yr. old would need a new computer. Now sure about the other brother though. Sounds like you have many computers now. As long as you have one, it shouldn't be a big deal. =)

 • Well, now they think they are going to make up for it with a $70 tablet. Yes, I have been asking for one, but $500 compared to $70? I don't worry about every last penny but that is a $430 difference. I guess it's just whatever.

This reminds me of a book I just read, except it is about two sisters.

 • You're sort of losing my sympathy. :/

Does the dollar amount really matter? My sister may get something for $50 and I would get something for $20 but that $20 item is something I enjoyed and I had fun. It didn't matter if mine was cheaper as long as I had fun and enjoyed the thoughtful gift. Parents don't have to be fair or give you these things. You dont have to have any computers in the house at all. I think it's sweet of them to get something they think you would enjoy. They want you to be happy.

 • I would really enjoy the tablet, but still. Like I just don't know.
