Eww.. weird wolf / collie hybrid type thing

Lol. I don't regularly draw wolves.. well let me rephrase that. I don't regularly draw. Here is one of my first shots at drawing a semi-realistic wolf. Now that I look at it, his posterior hind leg could be "in" a little more, his face is oddly cartoonish, the feet are crap, ears.. i don't know, but i THINK I'm happy with the rest. What do you think? Oh and Bobcat, I'm expecting you to be HARSH!!

Def. looks more like a collie than a wolf. Overall, from the head to chest, it's good. The neck seems a bit short to me, but I'm not good at judging that. The body seems a bit long, and the hind legs seem a bit... Weird. I do like the paws that face towards the viewer however, although you've only drawn three toes, rather than four. Also, I just noticed on the head, the ear towards the back's inside's too visible. It makes the ear look turned a funny direction.

I 100% agree with everything you said. Yeah.. the neck... looks a bit nonexistent but it has so much fur around there that I don't really know what it's neck is like. :P Oops forgot a toe..lol

only things i really see, is that 1. on the belly.. :? the fur kinda looks clumpy and kinda.. like.. well added on o-o and 2. the farther side of its nose is like.. hook-ish o-o; like.. its sticking out Dx ech.. i hate being so harsh ;; i sorry. >.< sorry.

Yes well I meant to do that, the fur on its belly is .... on it's belly, it's not coming down from the top, and the nose ... yeah. So what are the ways I can improve it? Part of CC is suggesting ways to improve, not just critiquing. :oops:

ech.. :oops: sorry xD on the fur thats coming from the belly.. i meant it looks like you chopped off the fur thats coming from its back, and stuck some fur onto the belly.. [lolz xD didnt mean to sound to rude there.. Dx sorry ;;] maybe adding some fur so that it doesnt look like theres a line in the middle, where you started the belly fur ;]

I have to say reina, you have talent! Thats for sure!

I LVOE the face. Especially the eye and brow. The tail's shading looks so magical to me. o.o Like a big ball of fluffyness -cuddles- ^_^ I think the only reason why it seems more like a collie is because collies tend to have thicker fur around the neck area. If you were probably to slim it down just a tad, especially in the back of the neck, it would seem more wolfish to me ^_- Also, the legs seem a little too short to me. But that could be a style you like or something.

For me, less is more. Especially around the belly.

By putting a puff of fur on the chest like I do with mine and then make and nice slick stomach, it adds to the wolf's presence. Or at least for me. Again, I love your shading -drools- o.o And I LVOE the eye!! :shock:

I can't suggest anything o.o <---- Not a drawer. xD BUT. I think it looks a lot like a Wolf/Collie, yus.

That doesn't help you at all, really, does it? =P You should get your own personal breed that looks like that! That'd be cool. xD

Lemme Think for Criq. First of all...You don't regularly draw!? Wow, cause then you really should draw more, if you haven't drawn in awhile this is fantastic. Ok, I completly adore hybrid art. I think the body structure looks like a collie's and the head looks more wolf like. I really like this drawing, my only issue is the paws, I'd try to round them out alittle, if you have a cat or a dog I've observe their feet. If you have rounder feet it really makes the claws just POP! I adore the mane which is styled just like a collie's. I simply adore, adore, adore, the way you showed the collie's body even though it is a very furry breed you showed very spactacular skills with that right where the stomach ends and the drapping fur begains. I really admire the shading with how the marking blends seemlessly into the stomach fur. (which also helps with showing the structure.) And Yes, The difference from this being male looking and female looking is the eyes, how it's half closed and has alittle triangle like shape on the side, with the cheek slightly raised past the eye. It's funny how something so small can change someone's perspective! ;o; Over all. I think you did a wonderful job on this. Kudos!

Just to be clear, buffy is not an artist at all and is only judging off of what looks right to her, im probably wrong on most things but.. I adore this picture he/she is adorable. I love the ears and the tail is gorgeous. As far as critique.. The chest looks like maybe it's a little far out, which also kind of makes the neck look shorter to me. The right back leg looks like it's a little stretched too far out as well, which kind of makes the wolf/dog shorter. Maybe im wrong that's just all i see that looks kind of mishapen =D Overall i love it

Thank you... I was trying to make the anterior hind leg stretched out... I wish I could find a picture of what I was trying to do.
