• i LOVE living in the country.. you get fresh air and no pollutants... more room and a lot of privacy.. people are a lot nicer from my experience and you can even see the stars at night... its wonderful... i never wanna live in the city lol! and for the farm animals.. make sure you get animals according to where you live and the climate.. like where i live its hard to keep sheep and rabbits alive because of the heat... it IS possible to have them tho as long as you have a nice big shelter for them and some way to keep them cool.. like a fan or frozen water bottles. Sheep also kill fleas! If you have sheep you will NEVER have a flea again. For chickens they can usually have free reign over where theyre living and as long as they have water and a place with some food they can usually feed off bugs and they kill bugs... ive never had a pig so idk about that one lol! Dogs can usually have free roam too if they play well with chickens. Cows are pretty easy keepers... just need to leave em in a pasture with enough grass and prolly a small watering hole or a tube of water you refill each day. Im sure youll love the country ^-^
 • Cows arent easy. Well it depends are you gonna have beef cows or dairy cows. If you have beef you just need to make sure they have feed and water.
If you have diary you need make sure they get milked 2 times a day make sure they get enough grain and plenty of water

 • I love the country to, I live in the suburbs right now. -hate it-
But, I grew up in the country and I helped my aunt with her emu's and horses, she also had some barn cats.
She bred emu's, I have no idea how she got into that buissness, but she ended up selling them all. They where awesome!
Horses are easy keepers -well, hers where-
She didn't ride them or anything, she just let them be horses they ran around in the pasture.
When me and my cousin where little we would go out to the pasture with them and they would run around with us. It was fun.

Then my other aunt raised chickens, ducks, peacocks, they had about 12 cats and 5 dogs. And they just got a horse about a year ago.

I love chickens, but depending where you live it is a MUST to be careful with them, sevral of the baby chicks and baby peacocks they had where eatin by hawks and they escaped thier pen and got lost in the woods.
 • oh..never knew that about sheep...maybe i can convince my mom to let me have a sheep & a cow XD
emus?
hmm....dont they spit at you? haha...
mom...wont let me get a horse...we wont have "that" much land she says...
im thinking about getting a dog or 2 from the shelter..thing is.. my dog dosent do well with other dogs... in the past 3 years...shes been attacked by a boxer & a bull masstife... :x
i never knew there were 2 kinds of cows..i would actually just like a pet cow.. just to love it...

XD i love my sheep... she's like another dog for me... we just keep her in a small dog enclosure and i let her loose to graze every day... she's an amazing girl... and if you get chickens they PROBABLY will get free.... they can hop/fly/hover far enough to get over almost any fence lol. but usually they WILL stay away from roads and such. And for the cows.. Dairy cows are cows you keep to get milk from so theyre smaller.. Beef Cows are bigger and theyre the ones people raise to eat. XD And also if you have enough room for a cow then youll have enough room for a horse... as long as you excercise it well it can stay in a smallish pen.
 • sheep..like a dog?
LMAO...
my mom said sheep & cickens dont eat grass....i thought they did?

& i want a big cow...just..not to eat..more like a pet...so cant i just get a Beef cow and keep him without eating him?
Chickens can fly?
lol...never knew that..i thought they just jumped...

 • XD yea. its funny. I was getting my agility jumps off the porch while she was out grazing and she hopped over to where i was *like in the movies on all 4s XD* and climbed up onto the porch.. i had to lift her to get her chunky self back down XD and sheep -DO- eat grass.. i can promise that. Chickens -DONT- but they peck at bugs on the ground and eat them. And they dont really FLY persay... they more or less Glide lol. and of course you can keep the cow XD we have 2... a lil bull and a hefer and were not eating either of those
 • hahaha...
good...that means i dont need to cut the grass
whats more better a male or female? cow & goat?
and how big do goats get?

 • id say females.. males have dominence issues. And my sheep is about the size of a very large dog right now and she's only 3 months... from what theyve told me she'll get to be a little larger than a great dane fully grown. And i like my sheep a LOT better.. a WHOLE lot better. And no youll NEVER need to cut the grass again. *she's a sheep not a goat lol* BUT with sheep theyre KINDA high matinence cuz you gotta clip them a few times during the summer and put a scrunchy on them if you shave them during the winter.. and also you have to mix a few foods together cuz theyre little pigs and will very easily choke themselves.. and you cant put anything around theyre necks cuz they are VERY delicate.. you MUST have a SHEEP halter... goat/mini horse halters will kill them o-o
