That's really cute. xD
  • I got two babies from TSC today too. They were my "Easter presents" but I was going to buy some anyway. Now I've just got to go over to my friends and pick up my two old ladies. She's been "bird-sitting" them for over two years. Haha...

Cute baby! Any idea what breed it is? Ichigo is cute but I don't think her natural color is that red. lol I might steal the name though.

XD i didnt figure it was but i thought it would be a cute name nonetheless
Thats what i plan to name my first albino ferret
  • I've been trying to figure out what breed, I've been researching online.
And no, that's not her real color. xD Once she sheds her downy feathers she will get her "true" color.
  • I named her Kirby. :P
Because she reminded me of the character, Kirby.
She chirps SO loud. xD And she won't stop until I come in the room.
Her color looks as though it's already fading. DX lol.

<img src="http://i43.tinypic.com/zwjade.jpg"; alt="http://i43.tinypic.com/zwjade.jpg"; class="bb-image" />

I like the name Kirby! :)
It seems to fit. xD

It seems you guys are bonding if she won't stop chirping until you come in the room.

I love her color!

You don't even know. lol.
I have been teaching her to eat and drink because she doesn't have her mom and she's too young to go outside with the other hens, and if I put my hand in her box she hops on it and cuddles up and goes right to sleep.

And the funny thing is, she's a people chicken...I let her meet the hens and she just drank water and didn't bother with them.

I think my boyfriend was a little mad that I got one because he wanted to wait until we moved so we can be sure that I can have a chicken, but I plan on training her, I would like to litter box train her and teach her different tricks like jumping through a hoop. XD
  • Aww, sounds adorable. :]

That would be so cool to have a trained chick! lmao. xD
  • Indeed! XD

The good thing about them is that they are food driven.
  • Shouldn't be too hard, lmao.
  • Very true. XD
My grandmas hens are skittish, if you put your hand in their coop they huddle in the corner and run away.
  • You're. So. Incredibly. Lucky! You have no idea what I would give for just a single chicken!

Kirby is very cute, and it's great that she acts like she trusts you! Hopefully she grows up to be a well behaved cuddle bug.
I'm done with VP. I'll just be around until I get all my dogs and lines placed in good hands. If you want to contact me, please do so through deviantART.
  • My older birds are trained to come when called. I hope to get my newbies the same way.

I love that if you start out early enough, they will usually come to their name and you can teach them a lot of tricks. I wish you guys luck! I know someone who keeps a single female duck in their house. She sleeps in their bed even. I don't know if I'd trust her not to potty all over the house. lol
  • @PrinceSushi-Thanks! :D The only down side to keeping a single chicken is the fact that they need socialization and when they are the only ones they tend to cry, kind of like puppies. She cheeped for hours last night, so I got her a little blanket and she slept all night under it.
I had been wanting a single chick for a while to train, but my boyfriend wanted to wait, however my grandma got 3 lil hens and I thought it would be the perfect oppurtunity. I planned on getting a Buff Laced Polish from a hatchery but I found these guys at the feed store. XD

@zagari wolf-Do they know thier names? How did you train them?
I don't know if I would let Kirby sleep in my bed, her box is a mess. XD
  • Has her color faded? xD

Yup. lol.
I was cleaning her off today and the dye was wiping off, and I had her resting on my white shirt and her color rubed on it.
  • Oh, so you dyed the egg before it hatched?
More pictures? :( She's so cute. xP
  • They where at the feed like that, but they didn't use injection dye...I forgot how the guy said he did it. But, it's apparently a safer dye. XD

Here's my dA if you want to see more pictures of her: <a href="http://avlaa.deviantart.com/"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://avlaa.deviantart.com/;

They all know their names. I didn't really "teach" them... they just kind of caught on to me calling them certain names. Before he died, I had Erik trained enough to jump on my arm when I asked him. Again, I didn't really "teach" him, he just caught on to what I trying to make him do. They're really smart birds.

BLAH! i will GIVE you one! we get 70,000 chickens every 6 weeks.
My dad is a chicken farmer xP

Interesting, she's been starting to follow me I can finally put her on the floor and she will follow. XD

Indeed. I have had quite a few people tell me I was supporting animal cruelty.
When after I told them several times that the dye that was used on THESE chicks where harmless.
  • She is absolutley adorable! I've always wanted a little chick xD That's really sweet how she's starting to follow you, you two must really be bonding! And it's foolish of them to say you're supporting animal cruelty, the dye really didn't effect Kirby at all (plus, it's already fading). It's not like it's going to kill her.

I can see why.; but after you said they were harmless, I would have taken a look at the chick, seen she's fine, and say, "My bad." xD lol
  • She's gotten bigger from what I've noticed. xD
If it where killing her it would be one thing, but she's happy and healthy.
You should hear her chirp, I've never heard a chicken chirp like that she's so loud. 8DD
