Jasper!

His name was originally Hidalgo, but I decided to change it to Jasper =) It suits him!<br><br>He is a 6 year old bay paint gelding. He has good ground work. He will lift each leg when you ask him too. When we went to see him, the owners little boy (about age 4) was running all around the horses legs and kicking up dust around him and Jasper stood PERFECTLY still and didn't even LOOK at the little boy. My dad sprayed Jasper with the water hose without him expecting it and he didn't start or even seem to notice. Vampy and I walked him home from the lady's house with TWINE as a lead rope and my dad following behind us in our truck. We crossed a highway and Jasper was PERFECTLY calm. He does have a few scars and he's pretty thin. We gotta get some meat on this pretty boy! I believe that once he fattens up (which we are already working on doing) he will look great! Vampy agrees =)<br><br>I believe that it was fate that brought me to Jasper. Every horse that I tried to get, I wasn't able to buy for some random reason. Which lead me to going to see Jasper. I fell in love with him within just a few minutes. I KNOW I'm meant to take care of him and get him back to a good weight. They had Jasper and another horse in one small pasture. They had ALL the grass eaten! I don't even know how long it had been since he had been watered. He went STRAIGHT to grazing as soon as I brought him into our yard. He drank two full buckets of water before grazing AGAIN. In just a few hours he has most of his area turned to dirt. We got him a larger water bucket and Vampy and I are getting her brushes in the morning so that we can brush him.<br><br>Now! No one was even holding the lead rope. It was drapped over Jasper's back.</span><br>_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________<br><br>He's come a long way in just a month you guys! He's looking better already! He is currently at Vampy's house, in the pasture with three of her horses. The have accepted him among them although they do still show herd behavior which is natural =) I'm extremely happy with how he is beginning to fill out and the way he's looking. What do you guys think?
