Job Application

I just filled out my first job application. It's for Subway, since one opened up just around the corner from where I live(walking distance). I've done some volunteer work, but I've never had a job, and definitely not one in fast food. I know a lot of people say to avoid fast food, but there aren't many other options for beginners. I think Subway will be pretty easy too, because it's more like a salad bar than a hot, smelly kitchen. I've volunteered at a school salad bar, so hopefully I catch on quick IF I get the job. Oh, I also tried to fill out an application for Walgreens, but their application website was having technical difficulties. I'll definitely be sending an application once it's fixed. I'm just so sick of not working that I'll take anything, and I'm more than motivate! I hope I get a job, or at least an interview.

Anyone else currently trying to get a job, or have tips for a newbie(particularly tips for working in fast food places)?

 • Don't eat the Food ALL the time. Subway might be fine though.

Your also better off Applying at places that are new, chances are they're still hiring. Who knows maybe walmart is an Option

 • lol, I don't worry about the food, because I don't eat fast food. Even when I use to eat fast food, I could not stand Subway, since they always gave me soggy bread. Nonetheless, if I ever did get ravenous while working I wouldn't mind a plain salad, which would be no worse there than anywhere.

The Subway restaurant is brand spanking new. Opened about a week ago, but that makes me nervous. For some reason I think it will be harder to get a job when it's new, because I imagine a lot of people would apply. It's also not far from the local high school, so I'm sure many students probably applied already. I have to hope they have an opening, and that something about me will beat out the high school students. Ha, I guess I always got the perk that I can work at any time of the day, at least until Summer.

I already thought about applying to work nights at the 24 hour Walmart, but it is unfortunately not an option for me, as I would need transportation(I'm in the process of learning to drive). The 2 places I'm currently applying to are right around the corner. I walk my dogs twice as far everyday, so it would be a rather easy walk, unless it was raining or something, but I could tough it out if I knew I was getting paid. In all honesty, I wanted my first job to be at one of the pet stores, but things haven't worked out perfectly, and I'm getting sick of waiting, so I'm settling for what I can get.

 • I know a lot of people that work at subway. They say its pretty easy but also depends on how demanding the customer is. I wish you luck! :)

I just put an application for sears portrait studio :3 They lady I was talking to said she was currently looking to quit. Although she said the boss is nice and is willing to train.
I'm a workaholic, so I like being super busy. I like to work myself crazy whether it be school, volunteer work, or now, maybe, a job. My mother worries about it, because she thinks I always take on too much, but I've never had a problem. I hope your able to get a job in the summer~ I'm planning on summer classes, which hopefully won't interfere with any job I might get this semester.

That's good to hear. I've been reading stuff online, and it sounds like the hardest part is being fast enough during the really busy hours, but you get better the more you work. Thank you~

Now that's an interesting job! I hope you get it!
