Public Boarding Kennel

edited August 2011 in Game Suggestions
Well I posted this at the end of my eventing change suggestion. But I don't think many people looked back at the topic after that was settled. So it did'nt get many views/replies. So here it is ---->

I know that I'm kinda bumping this up since it's sorta old, but anyway I just thought of this. Ive seen a few post of people saying the economy in VP is bad, and people have way to much money. That we need to take some money out because people are just sitting on it and not spending it. This causes items/services to cost a lot.

Looking at this post and the post about our economy. I thought that it may be a good idea for VP to just have one set boarding kennel, run by the owners/ops of VP. This would slowly help drawl some money out of the economy. I know that this may make some boarding kennel owners furious, but like Brutis and a few other have said, boarding kennels are already loosing customers and in the end money because of this eventing change. I suggest that all boarding kennels should receive an extra kennel change so that they may change to a different kennel type. Or at least still make one, and let the players of VP decide which one to use.

Good idea?

 • I actually kind of like this idea.
 • I'll admit, it's a good idea.
But I don't like it personally. I love my boarding kennel, and the fact I can pull 500k from it every day.
I've won 70+ million from eventing alone, in the last 3 years. & I've gotten into the habit of using my own boarding kennel. I wouldn't use any other, I'd just let them sit in a kennel rather than board.

 • I do't like this idea mainly because I am always broke and I bought my own boarding kennel so that I do not have to worry about that expense.

And really as far as eventing goes, I love the fact that a/c is now capped in events because of the fact that it gives people more of an initiative to breed dogs for a certain event and not have to worry about the fact that another dog that just has high a/c can beat the dog they worked so hard to get.

But as far as the economy goes... I don't get what your saying exactly. I understand the part where people like to hoard their money (which normally it is so that they can afford something like an upgrade or things they have a habit of buying) but what is this about things being more expensive on auctions. I think its awesome when things go for more money because it helps people actually want to sell things. When things aren't worth much people just hoard their gifties, high stated dogs, and such because they would rather keep something they don't need than sell it for something that they think it is worth more than they get for it.

 • The more the "game" stays out of the game, the better the game is. Pardon as I'm running a fever and that may not make sense. But the more that players can do things without the game interfering or doing the jobs players can do, generally, the more fun there is to be had by everyone.

Look at rescues for instance, in most games I've played, if a player doesn't log in for a certain length of time, the account just disappears with everything on it or the items are put into a huge pot for just about anyone to grab at. I prefer that players be able to expend money and actually work at rescuing the dogs, then putting them up for adoption or releasing/retiring less worthy dogs. Obviously, the game could do it, but it wouldn't be as much fun.

Same thing applies to boarding kennels for me. (Though I hope they get more options in the new version at some point) Sure, I've seen games that have a "game-wide" holding center, pasture or boarding facility, but there wasn't as much interest in them for me. On VP, you don't just "board" the dogs, you can actually improve them a bit, if you do your job, and the animal is returned to the owner in better condition than when it first boarded. Boarding does have a function on VP besides just holding dogs. If it were just holding dogs, certainly the game could do it and there would be no loss for players, but that's not all that boarding kennels are about.
