I've pondered this for hours.

We got my Shih-Tzu, Pookie from a breeder. She was a Christmas present, and hid at my grandmothers for a couple weeks. While she was there, my grandparents fell in love and when my mom came to pick her up, she told them that there was one more puppy left. They took him. These two dogs look so different. Pookie looks like your average Shih-Tzu, and acts like it too. Plucky, alert, royally arrogant. But Buddy (her brother) looks like a mutt, my grandmother has fought with groomers over the matter because she insists that he is a Shih-Tzu. Now, Buddy is so lazy all he does is sleep so different from Pookie. Their appearences.. I can't even describe. Just look for yourself.     I don't see purebred Shih-Tzu in him at all. He actually reminds me of a Pekingese mix or something... And he doesn't seen to have the coarse "hair" texture that Shih-Tzus have, he looks like he has softer, smoother fur.

    Very cute (both of them) but she deffinatly looks very much like a Pekingese. Maybe different dads?

    Omg Buddy is the love of my life. xD LOL. He's just TO cute. The same thing happened with my boy SonJo. We got him from a litter of BullMastiffs. But I only knew that he was no pure bred when he grew up and his true form came in, when he was a puppy I swear he looked pure. So I did a little research, called the breeder, and the guy claimed that SonJo was a BullMastiff/Am Bully mix who was 'mistakenly' added to the litter. We paid a good 5k for him and demanded our money back, but we couldn't get the money without giving SonJo back first, and that would've broke meee heart. :p So.. I ended up dealing with the fact that I paid 5 grand for a mutt. xD He's a good guard dog though, prevented a guy from stealing atleast 20k worth of stuff from our garage, and I love him to death. So it all works out. And your dog is gorgeous EITHER WAY.
