Awww. It keeps hitting me how weird this is. We had a horse that looked exactly like him, and his name was Romeo. Creepy. XD
<br>That is weird! Tomorrow I'm going to try to get video of him wanting affection after he does something good. He shoves his nose in my stomach and makes me laugh sooo hard! <br>He's such a sweet horse. <br>If I remember, I'll ask my boss if she has pictures of him from when they rescued him. He was such a mess >.<
<br>They actually rescued him from a field where he and his pasture mate were left to starve. The field was about 5 miles from our barn and my boss's friend saw them one day and called us. We had to walk them 5 miles to the barn because they wouldn't load into a trailer. <br>Eventually they tracked down the owner's wife. The owner had passed away and she didn't know how to care for them. She put them in the pasture with 2 barrels of hay for the whole winter and we didn't find them until about February. Romeo was 200 pounds underweight, Cowboy (his pasture mate) was 350 pounds underweight. <br>The animal control people said if we hadn't gotten them that week Cowboy would have died from malnutrition. Romeo was terrified of EVERYTHING and he's still really spooky about stuff. Cowboy is now broken in and doing really well. I was just drawn to Romeo and have loved him since the day he tried attacking my sweatshirt for treats lol

Haha, yep.<br>If you can get the book Almost A Whisper by Sam Powell. It will help alot! (:<br>And I learned that not many people know this, but when a horse shoves you, even though you might think its just for affection the horse is doing it to see whos boss, or whos more dominant.
Oh trust me, I know all too well about the dominant thing. Creole was SUPER dominant when I first got him Romeo wasn't being dominant, just seeking attention. I shouldn't have said 'shoves his head into my stomach' it's more like him pressing into my stomach looking for treats lol

<br>He's doing awesome!<br>Worked with him today on free longeing and ground poles. He's improved soooo much in just a few weeks, I'm sure I'll have him undersaddle this summer. He's turning out to be a very trusting and confident horse compared to how he was before- quiet, shy, and terrified of almost everything.
I haven't been able to make it out to the barn to see him because I've been so busy and it's been so cold but I will be heading out there Monday and Tuesday.<br>I'll also be taking pics of a bunch of horses at the barn for a project so I'll also be sharing those here as well.<br><br>I'm excited to get back into a routine with him!!!
Alrighty, I found a video of a younger girl at my barn helping me with him. I had done a few sessions with him prior to the video but he was still really freaked out by other people, especially when they were leading him so I used her as a training tool for him. <br>I don't know if I can post the link to the video because I can't really decide if it shows the girl's face or not, if I get around to it, I'll edit the video so there's a big smiley face over her head lol<br>Anyways, the video is short and basically shows him really tense at the beginning, then me telling her how to lead him so he'll feel like he is being submissive and calm and then her leading him back and forth as he starts to calm down. After about minute of all that jazz, I tell her to not pull on him but just stop and say 'Whoa.', she does that, he stops and it was a lovely thing to see him so calm and trusting of someone else!<br>The video was taken about a month ago and he's come sooooo far since then!<br>I'm going to see him today so I'll get pictures and maybe video, I'll also try to get pics of Georgia and Creole if I remember

I talked to my boss and she said it looks like Connor (the alpha of the herd) had kicked him in the leg causing it to swell. He was favoring his left front leg but it doesn't seem too bad. The vet came out on Tuesday to look at it and said to just keep him separated from the dominate members of the herd to let him heal. <br>But he is doing well and will hopefully be okay in a few weeks.

<br>Thanks! I'm having SOOO much fun with him, he's so sweet and gentle. Yeah it was actually really frustrating at first because he wouldn't even look you in the face he was so scared. It took weeks for him to trust me, but now that he does he's wonderful to work with and is slowly learning to trust other people. <br><br>

<br>I'm glad she's okay He's come so far it's actually kind of unbelievable. Some of the people at the barn said they never would have expected him to do some of the things he's doing with me (longeing, ground poles, etc.) I freaking LOVE this horse.
So Romeo is doing better, the vet said he will be fine and heal quickly since he hasn't had any strain on it before hand since he isn't broke to ride. <br>I won't be seeing him until Thursday or Friday because of exams but I am going to get lots of pictures of him because my friend is going with me to help me take pics for a project, so we'll do his last and take plenty ^.^<br>Apparently he was being a little turd the other day and managed to lose his halter which means it is currently lost in the gross, muddy, field of horses. I have two options, find it or get him a new one lol. I need to find the old one for safety reasons anyways but I might get him a new one too. <br>What color should I get him? I was thinking red or sky blue, I think it will be really pretty with his coloring. <br>Annnnyways...I have a goal. I want to have him undersaddle by June 15th. Yes, the middle of June. I would do it sooner but with my trainer being busy, school, and the weather, it won't happen until it gets warmer.
