<span style="font-size:85">So I was looking at horses for sale, and this gorgeous blue roan Quarter Horse mare is being sold as a broodmare due to navicular because of bad shoeing in the past. AND THEN it shows a picture of before (I guess) barrel racing, and she looked great! So many horses are ruined because of navicular. -_- My friend (owner of 'my' girl. (;) has NEVER had a problem with it though thank God! </span>

There's a horse at the farm I work at, who has that and my boss had the farrier put padded shoes (or something like that) and Max has gotten much better, maybe that could help the QH?

I can check..from the way they were talkin they just dont want anyone to get the horse an get mad that the people gave them a bad horse or that it was too late for corrective shoeing. But I'll sure check.

They should just have the buyer sign a paper stating that they are aware of the medical condition, then the buyer wouldn't be able to lash back at the seller.

That would be good. But round here most people dont bother with stuff like that even if they do take care of their horses. Cept for city people, most people are able to be trusted..MOST. lol

Navicular can be contained with corrective shoeing. However i dont think the mare would be a good candidate as a broodmare. Navicular can be caused genetically or by genetic conditions
