During a horse show hosted at Sxxxxxxx’s Arena, Dxxxxxxxxx, Pennsylvania on the 27th of January 2012, Amanda Gxxxxxxxx, X7 years of age, took the Open Pole Bending class on her leased horse, Lucky, with a 26.960 second pole pattern. All horses attending Sxxxxxxx’s Winter Circuit show ran the patterns in the indoor arena, surrounded by both critics and fans. Ms. Gxxxxxxxx’s Lucky had a slight predicament on the way to the show, but pulled through and ran her lucky heart out. During the trailer ride there, Lucky slipped on a bit of water when the brakes caught and went down in the first stall of Mendi Cxxxxx’s slant load trailer, becoming stuck in the corner and unable to get back to her feet. After almost a half hour of trying to free her from the trailer, Lucky pulled through with all but a skinned hind cannon bone. Although Ms. Gxxxxxxxx feared she would not be riding Lucky that night, let alone running her, Lucky was loaded up with absolutely no problem and trailed to the show, along with the rest of the horses. Ms. Gxxxxxxxx took extra care to make sure Lucky was as comfortable as she could be before signing up for any of her classes and after seeing how well that mare pulled through, got on and didn’t just run the patterns, but took first place in Open Poles. Ms. Gxxxxxxxx says that Lucky might need a bit more work on the barrels, but poles are definitely her expertise.
