Bad Owner Award to Cherokeez ):

We went to the ball park yesterday and I took my pride and joy Jake (since we can have all of the gates closed to keep her safe). We closed and LOCKED all of the gates to do so and we began our game.... Well my daughter started to cry so I left the inside of the fence and began walking her. My younger brother (who is tiny) opened the gate to get his bat bag thinking Jake would stay laying down on the other side of the field and since she is expecting puppies she would be slow enough to shut the gate on, but she bolted across the field (faster than anyone had ever seen her done) and went through his legs. She then bolted across the road and weaved through cars. We searched for hours and left every cell number of our house hold at every house along the way and just when we were going to leave and search in the morning we found her. I was in tears and felt like it was all my fault which I still do. She got home and I gave her a bath and now she is sitting at my feet wagging her tail. I am so thankful that I found her.<br>It shocked me that she did this because she has never done this before, but there is a first time for everything...

  • Yikes. The first thing I taught my dogs was to never run out of doors. They'll sit by an open door for hours without taking a step outside. My uncles dog, on the other hand, ran out the door into ONCOMING traffic yesterday, then decided to freeze up in fear right infront of a car going 50 miles an hour. I screamed for the car to stop and held up my hands. The dog didn't get a scratch on her but it gave me a heart attack. I know my uncle would've been heart broken if his dog had died. I don't really like her though, shes an annoying little weiner. -__- Thank goodness you found your baby though. Teach her to come back when called or stay seated when you open a door!
Goodbye old VP, hello disaster. xD
  • She has had that training like I said she has never done this. But it has been a while since I have had to use those commands so I will have to refresh her.

  • Then the only thing to do is perfect that training... good luck.
