I have an import Chihuahua that's 23.5 cm and 8.89 kg. It won 1st place in conformation but the Chihuahua "average" on VP is 23 cm (so she wasn't far off) and 4 kg (she was way off!). Is this right? Does conformation judge on the stats or something? Or should it be judging upon average height and build?<br><br>Just wondering. I thought I understood VP conformation. xD<br><br>This is the dog. <a href="http://virtualpups.com/index.php?r=dog/view&id=45139" target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://virtualpups.com/index.php?r=dog/view&id=45139</a>
They judge on the stats mainly, I believe. The event guide doesn't even mention the height and build, though I don't know how correct the guide is. As long as the stars match the breed standard fairly well, you should be golden.

<br><br>I ran my own conformation events and had this happen to one of my dogs:<br>"carlie is smaller than that of its breed(-7.6247)"<br><br>Does this mean the dog's height or build matters? xD So confused.
I think that confo takes all the breed standards into account. So the dog that matches the most will win. My chart is upstairs and I'm too lazy to go get it, but I *think* discipline, showmanship, and handling skills may also affect the outcome.
