Aww, too cute! He's going to be a gorgeous fluffball once he's fully grown. He looks like more of a 'Socks' to me! ;D
Yea we thought about Socks also but idk I think mittens has kinda stuck with everyone =D
My brother said Salt because our other cats name is Pepper xD
Him and Pepper still are not on civil terms..Pepper keeps hissing at him for a reason we do not know but we are planning on giving it a few more days. But otherwise he has started to get settled in and has become quite attached to me and my boyfriend. Quite sad because we only will see him when we come down for weekends..which isn't all that often. But I am hoping that Pepper starts to like him because I don't wanna see him go after he is already getting used to our family.
Every time we've brought a new cat home, our cats didn't get along for at least two weeks, maybe more. It's totally normal. Cats are super weird that way. xD Each time though, the cats eventually got along. Kiara and Lizzie ended up being best buddies and slept and played together all the time yet when we first brought Lizzie home, Kiara hated her guts. Kiara disappeared so we now have Jaxon - whom Lizzie hated at first. She still isn't too fond of him but it's because she's a paranoid freak kitty. Jaxon enjoys chasing Lizzie around the house and it makes her angry. xD

If Pepper is a very normal, mentally stable cat (most are, Lizzie is the odd one out when it comes to that xD) then I'm sure he/she will be fine once he/she realizes that Mittens isn't going anywhere. They learn to share space. ;D Good luck!

Oh, and if anyone is curious, Lizzie has issues because of her past. My mom's friend's cat had a litter of kittens (irresponsibly, how do you not expect an unspayed outdoor female cat to not get pregnant... you're kind of planning the pregnancy in a way...) and my mom decided we'd take one. We were waiting until they were 8 weeks old, as they should be before they leave momma kitty, and I guess mom's friend's son was left unattended with the kittens. He grabbed Lizzie by the throat and squeezed her. His mother didn't come downstairs until it was almost too late. Ever since we brought her home, she's always been kind of paranoid and off - she only lets certain people pet her and there's no way you're going to pick her up without it worsening her freaked-ness.
Cats can take quite a while to get used to each other... they are extremely territorial animals, so territorial in fact that they will often kill other cats that enter their territory (mostly happens with ferals). As long as your larger cat isn't attacking him, they should eventually get along fine. Try feeding them cat treats, tuna, chicken, or something else they will think of as a treat near each other, so they start to think other cat = rewards. Do you have a cat tower, or some other special place (preferably a raised area) your old cat likes to go? If so, make it a safe place for her, where the kitten is not allowed to go, and do the same for him in a different area.

He's a cutie, by the way
That happened with my kitten xD
My bf was with me when I picked her and no matter how long it is between them seeing each other (longest has been a month) she goes straight to him and begs for cuddles x] She also will pick me to sleep on over anyone else in my family and is more likely to follow me around..
So if you just form that bond with Mittens then I'm sure he'll be overjoyed that his favourites have come to see him!

Also how old is Pepper?
My best friend has a 13yr old cat and adopted a kitten stray and it's been a year now and they still don't get along, but the older one just tolerates and sort of mentors the younger one.
You shouldn't have to take Mittens back if they don't get along immediately.. these things take time!

Goodluck!

Thank you! I will definitely try the treat thing before I leave tomorrow =]

Thanks! and Pepper is about 1 to 1-1/2 years old. She had lived in a shelter all her life till we adopted her.
Pepper should adapt eventually. If she was a shelter cat then she's probably become quite jealous that another cat is intruding on her space after she finally got adopted and spoilt. Then again, I've found shelter pets to be more friendly with animals once over the whole "hey there's a kitten in MY house, when is he leaving?!".
She's seeing him as competition that's all, so just keep giving the same amount of attention to her and maybe even more to her than Mittens and she will hopefully come round.
@ Clozo, yea I think she will adapt. She is doing better than the first day which is good. She has actually been coming up to him and sniffing and all that good stuff but she still hisses.
@ Zagari, Oh yes he is an adorable fluff ball and I 's him =D
Also there has been a video added to the first post. Showing how I think he has attachment issues... Let me know what you guys think lol because what he does in the video is what he will do all day with me unless he is playing or sleeping xD And since I will only be here on occasional weekends I hope it isn't anything bad. Or maybe be just loves me that much xD
OMG HE'S A SQUEAKER
I find Mittens even more freaking adorable now XDD

It is a normal case of attachment issues. He's only still a baby so he needs quite a lot of attention and as you give it to him he's going to keep coming back to you! He'll grow out of it eventually but don't pick him up EVERY time he cries or he'll keep crying for attention even when he grows up.
Try not to let him jump up your leg though, I made the mistake of letting my girl do that and well, she does it whenever she wants now with her sharp claws and my goshhh it can be painful.

He's so litttllleeeee xD
Yea I suppose that makes sense xD I try not to pick him up whenever he "yells" because I don't want him to get used to oh hey if meow over and over again I will get attention...that's the last thing I want lol. And about him jumping/climbing on my leg that was the first time he did it and I kind of wasn't expecting it xD Although yea I don't want him to think doing that is okay either because yea as you said they get bigger and their claws do too XD.
Update!
So I was talking to my mom the other day and I asked her how Mittens was doing and she informed me that Pepper isn't hissing anymore is starting to play with him =D This is fantastic because now we know we can keep him there and that's why we wanted another cat was to keep Pepper company =] Hopefully I get to see the little fur ball in a couple weeks!
So mittens is getting bigger everytime I see him, sadly which isn't enough D;
But I am home for the weekend and I took a little update video so here ya all go.
Also any suggestions on getting him to stop thinking feet and hands are toys??
Also loves attacking wire cords which is not safe..for him -at all-
He likes to chew on my fingers too.. and his teeth are only getting bigger lol.
Any comments would be appreciated!
Video
