Okay, this might just be me, but I am so tired of those novices who keep complaining and whining about how sponsors are the reason they feel unwelcome on VP. Some of those sponsors that they are talking about change their prices on training JUST for novices. Some of those sponsors are the same sponsors who make novice help programs to get ALL novices on the right start. I personally am tired of having to listen to novices yell and bite my butt off for trying to help them with training, showing, making money, and other tips like that. I sit there a take time out of my day to try to make them feel welcome to VP and some are just plain rude to me about it. Then those SAME players want to go complain about how sponsors do not make them feel welcome or are rude to them! I wonder why!?! Would you want to be nice to someone after they jump down your neck for helping them? I mean the novices seem to forget that ALL sponsors were at one time newbie novices like them and needed help. GOOOOOOOOOOSH!!<br><br>Okay my little rant is over. I feel better!<br><br>P.S.: This is NOT addressing ALL novices (most of my friends are novices actually), just the ones who whine about how novice life is horrible because sponsors are so big and bad to them.

  • Exactly! I do not give them tips unless they ask. I send them a message that pretty much says "Hey welcome to VP. I have played for many years and know how to do a lot of tricks to get money as a novice. If you need any help feel free to PM me." If they do not message back, I leave them alone, but some do message me back and ask for help. Then when I go to help them they say "Well I know that, so you are no help!" or "This other new person helped me better so you are no help to me, so do not help me anymore, you are useless to me."!<br>1.) If you KNOW that then why bother asking me for help?<br>2.) You asked for help (I am not saying that person might not know what they are talking about) but you do not have to be rude to me about it. Just simply say "Thanks for your help, but such-and-such explained it better."<br><br>In my opinion those type novices make me feel unwelcome.

  • I must be lucky cause I've never gotten novices like that ... yet haha. Most the ones I've talked to have been nice. Please don't send me the rude ones lol as I can't stand rudeness. Especially after trying to be nice and help. I've helped a few players who have come to me with questions and even helped with getting dogs or breeding but if any of the rude ones knock on my door they will be shut out as i just won't deal with it.
  • I had a lot of nice ones the other day, but today there was many rude ones and way back when there was a lot of them. I went through my ignore list and there was like 30+ people on it that were rude novices.

  • Any rude ones I encounter will get a "nice" reminder from me that I treat them with respect and expect the same and then will promptly be placed on ignore. I rarely am the first to message someone so maybe that's why I don't get a lot of rude novices that msg me lol.
  • And now he's on my ignore list well he was that day till now

  • I haven't been playing as long as you, but as long as I've been playing there has always been that rival between novices and sponsors. For the most part, people become a sponsor when they decide that this is a game that they are going to stick with. So sponsors have experience. And let's face it, not all sponsors are tolerant of novices, and this game is very frustrating to learn. When you think you've figured something out, like breeding dogs and a sponsor comes along and basically tells you that those dogs are worthless, it is disappointing. Naturally, they may become apprehensive of sponsors. Even when they ask for help, maybe they're not hearing what they wanted or it is getting confusing. I'll admit, though, some are just plain rude.

  • Frostbite- I understand that it is hard to learn because I have been there as well, but like I said, I am not talking about ALL novices, just the ones who are constantly rude to every sponsor that they ask help from. It would be different if they were rude once and then message me back asking for help again and are nice, but the ones I am referring to are the ones that message one sponcer asking for help and are rude to them and then message them again and continue to be rude. I understand doing it once, because everyone makes mistakes, but to keep on and keep on, it is very aggravating.<br><br>I also hate the very few that message me saying that I HAVE to lower my prices because they are novices.<br>1.) No I do NOT have to do ANYTHING!<br>2.) I am very good with negotiating with everyone, and if you ask nicely, YES I usually will change my prices.

  • Have to say I've had an encounter or two of this sort. Something that helps me keep my cool is reminding myself they are probably young and/or have been raised to think everyone owes them something. Life will eventually teach them otherwise and perhaps they'll mature. Doesn't stop them, but help me not be too upset about it.

  • I totally now what you mean! I had a novice a month or so ago begging me for a 5k graphic and 5 of my dogs for free! The dogs were National eventers and phenomenal dogs. I simply told them no on the dogs, that they were not for sale, and that 5k was way to low for a complicated Kennel Banner like they were asking for. When I said that, she blew up at me and started screening and cussing and just being rude! Today she is a Sponsor but she still bugs me for some dogs and the dirt cheap graphics. It drives me insane! I also just recently had a novice bid 0 on two of my mushers from my mushing team and when I tried to explain that they weren't for sale they got mad at me. When they calmed down and came to apologize they asked how much for a kennel banner and I told them 20k, which is extremely low compared to what I normally ask, and she got mad telling me I charged to much and I was cheating her for her money. This just makes me mad: / I totally understand how you all feel!
  • I agree with everything everyone has said here. I was just thinking this earlier today. Somewhere I read a novice saying that a bunch of sponsors are rude and it just bugged me. To make such a generalization about the people here. I mean, there are very few people who are always out and out rude. Maybe you caught someone in a bad mood? <br>I find everyone I communicate with quite respectful and enjoyable to talk to. There have been very few instances where someone has been rude to me, but I find that they have all been novices. <br>Luckily, I have had many more encounters with kind novices. (:

  • Bama- That is usually what I tell myself because most of the time they ARE immature and young. I usually give them two chances (if they do in-fact come back with another question) after they have been rude because people do have bad days and such, but if they continue to act like children, I simply use my nice ignore button.<br><br>Cecctl- I also understand where you are coming from. Some novices look for free handouts and if we refuse to give them what they want, they through little childish temper tantrums. It makes me sick sometimes when they are as rude as they are.<br><br>Tuff- I thought it was just one of their "PMS" days as I call them... The first time they do it, but it is when they sit there on a DAILY bases and say that it is the SPONSORS' fault that they do not feel welcome. Yes I do understand that some sponsors are rude, for example, when I first joined VP, I was trying to sell several of my dogs and I thought that they were fully trained because the discipline skill was at 100 (JUST the discipline bar). I posted them up for sale as fully trained and shortly there after I got a message from a sponsor that told me "Do you have a brain issue? Your dogs are NOT fully trained! You are advertising them wrong and are stupid for thinking that they are trained! I hope your dogs are adopted and then retired, just because they were near your stupidness." But I would not just say it is ONLY the sponsors who are rude. There were also rude novices then (and now). I look at it as, for every rude novice, there is a rude sponsor.

  • We are Sponsors. The big and the bad. With great power comes great responsibility. xD<br><br> If a Noveee wants to be rude I laugh it off and go back to training / rescuing (two things that that rude novice cannot do).
Goodbye old VP, hello disaster. xD
  • I don't tend to encounter rude novices, though I have encountered some rude people around here... I actually have a novice help program at the moment, I give one free fully trained neutered dog to them if they want... but only one and it must be neutered and I also offer help. I usually look from time to time, at who's online and if i see someone with 0 or 1 stars next to their name I tend to ask them nicely if they need help.<br><br>I so get where everyone is coming from, and I cannot believe that a person said that to you when you started Cherokeez... that was just rude... I usually just explain nicely and if they don't like what I have to say, they don't have to talk to me...
