I'm pretty proud of this but I'd like to know what I can do to make it better. I haven't messed with PS in a long time so I was pretty surprised it looked this good.

<img src="http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h239/ZagariPitBullLover/Other/Fearless_zpse47094c3.png"; alt="http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h239/ZagariPitBullLover/Other/Fearless_zpse47094c3.png"; class="bb-image" />

 • Aww, thank you. :) Means a lot when others compliment my work.
 • I like this piece but I instantly notice a few things.

1) You can clearly see where the dog has been cut out (this is more noticeable at the back and underneath of the dog), try using the refine edge tool to get as close to the dog as possible and use a 1px feather. Using refine edge helps you get really close without loosing some of the dog and without containing any of the background.

2) The dog looks HUGE in comparison to the rest of the background and stuff, try using "the rule of thirds" which is explained quite well <a href="http://digital-photography-school.com/rule-of-thirds"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">here

On the whole dog is rather large issue, you could use more than one dog with some transparency to help with filling the space without the dog being so big. This being said, the dog distracts your attention from both the lovely fire background and the text.

3) Your copyright is very hard to see, granted you don't want it to stand out too much, but using the copyright symbol © which can be created on your keypad "ALT + 0169" keep hold of alt the whole time. It would reduce the space of your copyright. And maybe brighten or change the text on your copyright to make it easier to read.

4) The text is nice but feels like it's in the wrong place, like maybe move it to the left a bit.

Other than that, really good graphic especially to say you haven't used PS in a while :)

 • Thanks for some real critique! Yay!! I know where you're coming from but this wasn't meant to look like a real picture. Just a dog slapped on a background - which he was. I was going to do some stuff to his feet, try to make it look like it was an actual picture with a foreground and background. Maybe like the dog was standing on a hill and the fire was far back but what I did looked horrible and I scrapped that idea quickly.

I feathered 3 pixels but I'll try 1 next time. When I was taught Photoshop, I was told to feather 3 pixels and I have ever since. But I'm always learning!
