I just want to add that dogs born in a breeding kennel receive a special bonus and females are always in heat when in a breeding kennel. It is arguably not the most profitable kennel, you have find something to do on the side. But, my only sponsor kennel has been a breeding kennel from day one and I couldn't imagine it any other way! The perks of it are really hard to not have one you're accustomed to having them.
Don't forget boarding! The more dogs a boarding kennel has, the more money it brings in. 360 VPC per dog times a thousand dogs is 360k a day! Pretty good deal.

A well managed, well advertised rescue kennel can be extremely successful. You need to be on top of your dogs, though. Constantly rescuing and constantly putting up your rescues for sale. Typically the low statted dogs go up for adoption and you'd move better ones (10x4, rare giftes, show dogs) to the main kennel to be sold for more. Plus, if you have your eye on a certain dog in an abandoned kennel, you have a much better chance of getting a hold of it.

I don't know too much about prestige kennels. But really, any of the specialty kennels can be worth the while if you put in the time and effort, and watch your pennies. It is up to where your interests lie when comes to choosing.
I see benefits to all of them to honest. I'd like a lifetime, but I know I can't get 5 lifetimes. Lol. XD I was going to ask for one lifetime for my b-day which is coming soon. Not from one person of course because I've never been one to ask for expensive gifts from one person, but I figured I could get four of my family members to donate $25 each towards it for me and I'd scrounge up the other 9 somehow, probably selling some books or movies or something.

I did the pros and cons:
Boarding Kennel
Pros:
1.Can make alot of vpc off of it as long as I can get business.
2. I also wouldn't have to worry about accidentally forgetting that I was on retirement kennel account and turning the dogs.

Cons:
1.There's not much else I could do with it besides the two things listed above.

Rescue Kennel
Pros:
1.Can easily get abandoned dogs of breeds I like that are hard to find for sale for free.
2.

Most people are more interested in 10x4s - especially if they've just recently been reached. Unless someone is working on their own line and needs a 9x4 to put into their line, they aren't really something that many players are looking for.
I've tried to sell 10x4 dogs that I've rescued before too though and most of them weren't bought. They were boxers, greyhounds, border collies, a chichua(sp?),and some other breeds I don't remember. And how do you get 10x4 from breeding 9x4s? I bred one of my 9x4s to a 10x4 stud, but still only got 9x4s. So,how do I get a 10x4 dog?

There a lot of breeds that have a TON of 10x4s already - so they are far less valuable because a lot of people already have them. The breeds that JUST reaches 10x4 will be more valuable.

This is a list of all of the breeds and what stars they have reached: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=43557

Getting a 10x4 depends on the stats that are lower than the rest. Some stats are harder to get up than others. Certain stats require certain training to raise them so you have to determine what training is needed. It also depends on the pair you breed and how their stats compare to eachother.

Keep in mind that you don't need to own a boarding kennel in order to use Boarding services. You can place your dogs in boarding from your current kennel for a slight fee and they will not be aged. The only perk with owning your own boarding kennel is you won't lose the bit of money that boarding costs. (Which is only 360 vpc per day)

Maintaining Rescue Kennels can be a lot of work, but is a great option if you have quite a bit of free time. With a rescue kennel, you can only rescue dogs that are in a kennel that has been inactive for 6 + months. So if you are interested in rescuing unpopular breeds, you might be a bit disappointed with what you don't find.

As a trainer, you're almost guaranteed to have many costumers, as long as you have fair prices and a decent amount of practice with examples to prove it. Basically, once you get the hang of it, you'll never be bored on VP again! (Unless you're not in the training mood... Then you're out of luck!)

Keep in mind that you'll have the opportunity to show your dogs no matter which kennel specialty you are. Back when I was a Novice, showing was my niche.

Thanks! I haven't created a donation kennel for the club yet. If you'd like to do so, feel free! (Please pm me before doing so.)

Those links are great! Thanks. I never knew you had created those.
Those links are great! Thanks. I never knew you had created those.

Thanks :-) I got tired of having to dig through forum posts and help files every time I needed a little info lol... Hope they're helpful, and if you (or anyone else) think of something they're missing let me know!
Thanks. That list is a little bit helpful, but it doesn't tell how many 10x4 there are of each breed though. So, i don't know if there's only 1 10x4 of a boxer or 50 10x4 boxer dogs for example.

Oh. Ok. Thank you. How do I know what kind of training they need though?

That doesn't seem like much in the beginning, but if I planned on keeping my dogs in there forever so they wouldn't age, the money would add up especially if I wasn't making any money off of the kennel type I did end up choosing. And if I had my own boarding kennel, wouldn't I still be able to play with and interact with the dogs? I know I couldn't train them, but still.
That's interesting. They must've changed the rules then because here it says they only have to be in a kennel that has been inactive for 1 month or more:
Rescue kennel owners have the ability to rescue pups that have been in a kennel that is innactive for a (real) month or more, and the pup has had little care.
Quote taken from here:http://virtualpups.com/help/features.php#kennel_types
Anyway, I know of atleast one breed of dog were there are some that are sitting in a kennel that hasn't been longed into since the beginning of April so I think they'd be eligible for rescue.

I don't know. I can't really see any benefits to training though other than making cash from it. It all seems kind of boring and reptitive to me. It's just not my kind of thing I guess as I don't find training that interesting.

Well,I was more thinking prestige for the fact that I could create my own events if I had prestige rather than the fact that it would help me with showing my dogs. Or can all sponsors create events no matter what their kennel type?

I could let you try out both my rescue and training to see what u prefer!
Thank you so much. That'd be awesome. But exactly how would that work? Wouldn't I have to be able to get on your account(s) somehow to use those kennel(s)?

PS Sorry everyone for kinda hi-jacking the club thread. Lol. XD

Yes, you would have all my log in information, and I would have to be able to trust you, and have you listen!
Oh. Ok. Should I pm you on the forum or in-game to make arrangements? Don't worry. I'm good at following dangerous. I'm definitely not a rebel. In school I was teased about being teacher's pet because I never got in trouble and always followed orders. Lol.

Boarding can be a temporary thing. You can enter somebody's boarding kennel and remove the dog whenever you'd like, with a simple 'click'.

You can rescue a dog if the kennel is inactive for one month AND the dog(s) you intend on rescuing contain a low mood. However, that doesn't occur often. If the dog(s) have a higher mood, you will need to wait 6 months of inactivity.

Well,I was more thinking prestige for the fact that I could create my own events if I had prestige rather than the fact that it would help me with showing my dogs. Or can all sponsors create events no matter what their kennel type?

You can create four events per day as any type of sponsor. However, as a Prestige, you'll have the opportunity to create double the events. The only difference between a Prestige Kennel and normal Novice Kennel is that you can create events and host a club, if you'd like. You can become a superb handler, no matter the type of kennel you choose.
Officially, yes. However, you can always create an "unofficial" club. It just makes it easier with the Prestige Kennel since you have the opportunity to host events for club members only, as well as for the public.
Oh. I just realized I said I'm good at following "dangerous". I meant to say I'm good at following orders. Lol. Wow. That's embarrassing.
