I'd just like to note that just because a dog is a herding breed, it doesn't necessarily mean it will be best for herding. One of the top herding dogs on here was a Yorkie at one time :P

I think that confo takes all the breed standards into account. So the dog that matches the most will win. My chart is upstairs and I'm too lazy to go get it, but I *think* discipline, showmanship, and handling skills may also affect the outcome.
