I think a hot pack would help or a heating pad you can wrap around his leg. It shouldn't be nothing to serious, where his leg would have damage to it. He could have sprained it. Is he whining when pressure is begin put on the leg?

Oh I wish we had 90-110 weather. In Ohio the whether sucks. Yesterday it was 80 and today its cold and will rain. Then last week it was in high 60's and then one day it snowed, and the next day it was gone. I hate the whether :x
