The vet's guess is seasonal hair loss, but she said to keep our eyes peeled for any more AD symptoms. So that's awesome If he does have AD it'll cost; $100 for bloodwork $400 for ultrasound $1,000 for actual surgery.

If that doesn't happen, dogs in rescues should, at the very least, be organized by breed or something once put up for adoption.
