Well, in one scenario, if you both have training kennels, you agree on which dogs to train and how to train them, and then you go about doing it.
Then you either find a breeding kennel, or use one that one of you have, and arrange to breed the dogs.
Whenever this happens, I just take a break from VP. I've been playing off/on since the game stopped being beta and I think what really helped was that I left if I ever started to get bored.

Does it matter if the breed is available in your area? Like at a shelter/breeder? Because if it's not and you can't fly it in or drive somewhere to get it, that might limit your choices.
