For your latest one, the Shaun White one, it would be quite simple. What you do is make the background, whatever you want gray. Than, after you do that, add the other images, and they should stay in color.

I like the latest. I don't know if you're into it, but a fun thing to do is keep the main image in color, and the others in greyscale. Test it out, I think you'll like it.
