I figured it out, lol. I had a contract with the same dog going to another person, though they didnt accept it, for some reason it was taking it as though it was accepted or something. As soon as I canceled that, it worked again.

Outline? Like the color around the text? Try to look for a shadow, or drop shadow tool. Or, you can always re-type the text on another layer, and move it behind it, making it a little bigger to be seen around the edges.
