do you use Gimp to do your shading? I've been trying but I can never seem to get it right, I love line art and have started coloring some of mine, but I can NEVER get the shading to look even close to what it should look like.

those are of my horses and the horses from the barn where i ride. they aren't traced, but i do use some lines as a reference, like the neck line, so i sometimes trace over the line of the neck from the picture that I took to ensure my copyright.

I draw some out of my mind for some, and others i use picture sof the breed, or pictures of my own horses.
